Getting Rid of Apple Maggots

We have a good understanding of the apple maggot problem and various offers of methodology to prevent, but want to hear from folks with actual successful experience.
For this we would remain forever grateful. Thank You.

We spray the fruit trees with a "dormant" spray (when buds are out but not in bloom) then we use malathion during the blooming season.

If you call a nursery, you may be told of a better chemical than malathion. It's just what we use. Good luck!
