Area Rug on Carpet Bunches Up

We have a very plush carpet and bought a round throw rug. The throw rug wants to curl and bunch up, because of the carpet, after we place the dinner table on the rug. Is there is a way of keeping the rug in place? Like a plastic chair protector for carpets. Thank you.

I won't be much help with your rug but maybe what I have ran into will save you some trouble. The strips on the bottom didn't work and were expensive for me. We finally removed the rug off the rug and quit fighting its moving everywhere and flipping up on the corners.
