If you look in the coffee aisle of the supermarket, you should be able to find a liquid coffee product. My favourite is a 'coffee and chicory essence' and I add it to cold milk with a sweetener. It only takes seconds to mix it up. You can make it as strong or as sweet as you want.

Request: Tasty Iced Coffee Recipes
I am looking for a recipe for really tasty iced coffee. I need to drink the caffeine in the morning. I love iced tea but it doesn't give me enough of a jump start. It is to hot to drink hot coffee. I have made a pot of it and chilled it and put powdered milk in and sugar, but is there anything else I can do? I also had some whipped cream which was very tasty but has too much fat.

I like to take 8 0z of milk and 1 tsp instant coffee and 1-2 tsp sugar. Put in container with lid and shake until coffee is dissolved

I make some iced coffee using leftover morning coffee that has been in the Coffee Butler. I just get a tall glass and put about half coffee, half milk or half & half, some sugar to taste and lots of crushed ice. It's very good and then I used the last of the coffee and don't throw it away.
I do still always drink my hot coffee in the morning but must admit in the hotter weather I probably drink less.
Also, you could take the leftover coffee and put straight away in the frig so that it is nice and chilled for later for your iced coffee. (07/12/2006)

Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to the hot coffee then add a few ice cubes. Very delicious and extra sugar is not needed.
I make a pot of coffee at night, place it in the fridge. In the morning, I add 1/4 cup of half & half to the pitcher. Add ice cubes to the glass and pour the coffee in.
Vanilla flavored soy milk added to cold coffee is delicious and need no sugar. (07/12/2006)

Copycat Starbuck's Frappuccino (4 servings)
- 3/4 cup double strength coffee (see below), chilled
- 2-1/2 cups 2 percent milk
- 1/4 cup sugar (or Splenda)
- 1 tablespoon dry pectin, optional (for texture - looks like most people leave this out)
Combine coffee and sugar and chill. Add milk and pectin, shake together thoroughly and chill again. To serve, zap in a blender for 30 to 45 seconds, or shake mixture in ice, strain and serve. For vanilla add a capful of vanilla extract; for mocha, add a pinch of cocoa powder.
Make double-strength coffee by brewing with twice the coffee required by your coffee maker approximately 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per each cup of coffee. Chill before using.
Like Starbuck's Frozen Frappuccino (2 large servings)
- 3/4 cup double-strength coffee, chilled
- 3 tablespoons sugar (or Splenda)
- 1 cup 2 percent milk
- 2 cups ice
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until ice is crushed and drink is smooth. Pour into two 16-ounce glasses, and serve with a straw.
For caramel, add 3 tablespoons of caramel topping; for mocha add 3 tablespoons of Hershey's syrup. If desired, top with whipped cream and drizzle additional sauce over top of cream. (07/12/2006)

I just make coffee and chill it in the fridge (or let it sit in the windowsill overnight), pour it into a tall glass and add milk (2% for creamier texture) and two or three teaspoons of sugar. If you have a Nalgene bottle or some such leak proof container, (they make wonderful coffee-bottles) you can just mix it all in the bottle and shake it up, otherwise just take an iced-tea spoon and stir until all the sugar dissolves. VERY good.

I will make a pot of coffee at night and while it's still hot, I put one cup of dry coffeemate in with one heaping tablsp. Powdered chocolate. And then some splenda to taste. Put it in a pitcher in the fridge overnight. When i get up in the morning i stir it and pour over ice in my cup and drink. I know how the heat can affect ya cause I live in desert where the weather is 110 and up in summer months. Hope you enjoy this one. (07/13/2006)

The best one I ever made was in a blender where you mix icy cold milk, sugar and the magic ingredient - Coffee and Chicory Essence. Just be creative and experiment as to how strong or sweet you need it. Guaranteed to be the best iced coffee ever! (09/15/2006)

We have a cafe here in Hawera, New Zealand called Auntie's Cafe. They make the most wonderful Iced coffee, but maybe you'd think twice about having it regularly. It contains two cups of milk, 2 scoops of ice cream and 2 Tablespoons of Chicory essence with whipped cream and chocolate sauce on top.
The best I've tasted, but high in calories.

I love iced coffee in the summer! I make a double shot of espresso and add Splenda while hot. I then ice it down and drop it into a tumbler with more ice and some non-fat milk. Best recipe is to use whole milk and sugar, but I want the caffeine more than the calories. (I suppose this is really an iced latte, but this is how you avoid the off tastes of some coffees.)
An easier way to make 'mock' espresso is with an AeroPress coffee maker. It makes great shots of STRONG coffee that you can water down Americano style. Real easy to use and cleanup! (08/05/2007)
