To remove rust stains from smooth surfaces, mix 1/4 c baking soda with 1 qt water. Apply with damp rag, let dry then wipe with a dry soft cloth. Usually works first time.

For heavily rusted iron or metal , there is a product called Navel jelly. Read Instructions. If it is on a soft surace, salt and lemon. If it is cloths , salt and lemon. If it is colored gently dont want to rub the color out. If it is a toilet bowel.. the same..but if you want to really do it fast and not have to deal and it wont hurt it. a product called. Lime Away. It is safe on tile. that should cover it all.
