My wife knits and needs to get a liner for the sweater for my son she is currently working on. Where can I find one?

Thanks,
Hans

----> If she can knit a pattern, she can sew a pattern for the lining. HERES HOW:

1) Lay out a piece of knitted light weight T-shirt fabric flat on a hard surface (using a color that matches close to your sweater)

2) Place knitted finished knitted pieces on top of the fabric and draw around them with a piece of chalk. (the fabric pieces should be about half an inch bigger than the knitted pieces to allow for seams)

3) Cut out pattern pieces and sew together in the same order as you sew together the sweater.

4) Tack the lining in around the neck & the sleeves Hem the liner about an inch or 2 shorter than the sweater. The liner rough seams should face the sweater, not the body.

---> If you use a lightweight T-shirt knit, the liner will not fray, as knits do not fray.

---> This is the only way you can get a liner that will fit well. If you buy one, you will not have an exact match to the size of your garment.

3) Sew the pieces together by hand or even better using a sewing machine

* a note: you can find used sewing machines at nearly any fabric store. They range from $10-$25. DO NOT PAY MORE THAN $25 for a used sewing machine that is not in a cabinet. (unless you buy a re-conditioned one from a dealer) Take along thread and someone who knows how to sew to check out the machine before buying.
