Crocheted Cell Phone Carrier

I chose cotton yarn for this cell phone carrier because it is easily washed. If it's for someone who won't get it dirty, you could make it with one of the fun yarns that are on the market now.

 Crocheted Cell Phone Carrier

Level: Beginning

Supplies:

  • scraps of cotton yarn in contrasting colors
  • Size F/5 crochet hook

Directions: Chain 13

Front & Back (Make 2)
Row 1: sk 1 ch, sc across, turn (12 sts)
Row 2: ch 2 (counts as one dc), dc across (12 sts)
Row 3: ch 1 (counts as one sc), sc across (12 sts)
Row 4: ch 1 (counts as one sc), sc across (12 sts)
Row 5: ch 2 (counts as one dc), dc across (12 sts)
Row 6: ch 1 (counts as one sc), sc across (12 sts)
Row 7: ch 1 (counts as one sc), sc across (12 sts)
Row 8: ch 2 (counts as one dc), dc across (12 sts)
Row 9: ch 1 (counts as one sc), sc across (12 sts)
Row 10: ch 1 (counts as one sc), sc across (12 sts)
Row 11: ch 2 (counts as one dc), dc across (12 sts)
Row 12: ch 1 (counts as one sc), sc across (12 sts)

Strap

Using a strand of each color yarn, ch 25

Finishing

Using a contrasting yarn embroider hi, hello, musical notes, or any other design on each piece.

Using the contrasting yarn, with wrong sides facing, dc them together around the sides and bottom.

Make a loop of the strap and connect it to one upper corner.

I can't wait to try this! I'm always looking for ways to use up my scrap yarn.
I know a neat pattern for potholders/hot pads. Let me know if you are interested.
