our heating bill has gone way up from last year...i just had kerosene delivered, 150 gallons was $442.35 and if i filled our 300 gallon tank up it would be $900.00. not too long ago we used to fill it up way under $300.00. boy, something needs to be done .....the poor are getting poorer and the rich are benefiting from it and getting richer..... amy from central new york

last year we used our gas fire place a lot until we got the bill !
this year we turned down the thermostat and added a sweater or sweatshirt to keep warmer

we are using our wood stove exclusively this winter, and we get our own wood, so cost is our gas, and saw costs. We are retired and put in a couple of hours a day, for about a month. I figure the exercise alone has been worth getting the wood.

I turned back my thermostat and started dressing warmer this year and it made a big difference in the amount of gas I'm using.

Ours is a whopping $305 more -- which is amazing for two people gone most of the day!! And we are still cold too...
