I want to have lights on all the tables at a party we are having for my father in August but because of the number of children I don't want to even consider candles. The colors are red and blue and while I will have some twinkle lights, there could be a problem with plugging them in. Any suggestions on ways to use jars, coloring them or decorating them and then placing them over those battery operated candles? Any other suggestions appreciated.

The battery operated candles take the large old fashioned Christmas light bulbs that look like Night light bulbs . Check to see of someone you know has any in those colors or paint the clear ones .
I Love the battery candles. I have cats so real candles scare me a lot. Put a battery candle with a clear bulb in front of a mirror during a power failure & your entire room will have a decent glow.

Could you use battery operated Christmas lights like they use in the miniature villages at Christmas time? I'm sure they come in clear. Or maybe use battery operated "candles" I've seen at dollar stores? You could paint the "candlesticks" to match your decor.
