Handy paint bucket or paint cup liners can be made from plastic shopping bags. Just place the bag in the container and cut to size with scissors (make sure the bag overlaps the outside rim of the container about an inch). Use masking tape to attach the bag to the outside of the container. Clean up just involves throwing the liner away.
