Make stationery using your computer and printer. You can make quarter fold note cards with pictures you have taken (of local landmarks etc. not people!) on the front and "Hello from Yourtown" inside. Package in a ziplock with 8 folded cards (from regular copier paper) and 8 envelopes (get envelopes in large boxes at office supply stores). Sell for $2.00 or so.

Use old washrags or buy a package of cheapie new ones. Sew two together for a potholder or three together for a hot pad to set hot dishes or pans on.

Plastic bag holders made from bandannas. Take a bandanna, sew along one side, make pockets at the top and bottom for 1/4 inch elastic, attach a loop at the top for hanging. Bandannas are less than 3 bucks a piece and the time to make it is minimal. This will hold literally hundreds of plastic grocery bags to be inserted at the top and pulled out from the bottom while it's hanging like a dispenser.
