A good way to enrich your garden soil and help out the earth is to bury your "wet" garbage. I bury my apple, orange, potato peels, etc. in my garden. We can't have a compost heap, but I've found this works just as well.

This sounds like an excellent idea, but be prepared. Years ago my sister, now 70 and in failing health, decided to bury her garbage one day in the back yard. Like you, it included potato peelings. After the appropriate amount of time, she had potato plants sprouting out of the ground.

I am in Canada and my motto is that anything that comes out of the ground can go back in! Cukes, tomatoes, potatoes peels from all veggies and egg shells for sure! Makes great earth for next years garden! Happy gardening from Nova Scotia!
