Good time to check on Your credit! Equifax is one of the three biggest credit agencies. You can call them once a year at 1-800-525-6285 to request a free copy of your credit report. You are also allowed a free copy of your credit report if you are turned down for credit.

You may obtain a copy of your credit report free once every year. A good idea to do this as you will be informed of what your credit standing is as well as be able to check for any discrepancies.

Go to http://www.annualcreditreport.com and you can get all three reports for free. You can get them once a year from each agency - so you can get all three now or spread them out over the course of the year. It is an easy process, and is just now available nationwide (I am in NY and we were the last ones to get it).
