I would like to work outside on my laptop, but the screen glare prevents me from seeing anything. I could get an anti glare screen, but would prefer a "kitchen remedy" that costs nothing. Thanks.

I'm sorry I didn't post feedback sooner. The black stocking sounded promising, but it did not work at all. I have just been working indoors instead. If I have a glare problem, the easiest thing is to slant the laptop sideways - not 100% though. Again, thanks for the suggestion; it SHOULD work. Possibly a metal screen would work. The nylon was too reflective itself. - Mary

So how's the stocking working?

The black nylon stocking sounds like a great idea! I'm going to rummage through my drawer and find one - it would probably stretch over my screen since the screen is small. I'll post my results after I try it. This sounds very promising! Thanks! - Mary

The anti-glare screens I have seen look an awful lot like a black nylon stocking stretched over a frame. Maybe you could make a frame from a wire coathanger and stretch a single thickness of black nylon stocking fabric over it, basting it in place?
