To make a cute pin cushion, take a small clay pot, and stuff with fiberfill very firmly - until overflowing. Tuck a scrap of fabric over it, forming a nice dome, and hot glue inside the rim of the pot. You can decorate the rim of the pot with buttons, ribbons, satin roses, etc...

Where did the pattern for the pin cushion go to using a flesh painted clay pot with painted face of lady and her curls with cushion on top?

Julie, I have done a similar thing with a tea cup, only I glued pretty braid or cord around the inside of the rim of the cup to hide where I glued the fabric. Sometimes I make a beaded stick pin to stick in it. It looks very pretty. You can use a saucer or not. I found pretty cups at the thrift store. Judy

Would't this be cute favors for a Mother/Daughter Banquet. We had a church banquet one year with the theme Mom's patterns for Life, Thread was made with two inverted portion cups with yarn wrapped around to resemble a spool of thread and toothpicks sprayed silver for a needle.
