Water in Mower Gas

When my mower ran out of gas I grabbed my gas can and filled it up. Unfortunately from all the rain we have been having water go mixed into the gas. I poured out all the gas, put in a new spark plug and dried out the filter. I also sprayed starting fluid into the carburetor. It won't start. What else is there? What about dry gas?
