Anniversary Invitation Wording?

I'm having a 40th anniversary party and I would like it to be formal. How can I word it on the invitations without offending anyone?

Congrats! We are at 30 years. There are not many committed this long. A Roast might be a good idea. Your family and friends can formally pick at you, dress nice and have fun!

I went to a recent wedding and they put on bottom of their invitation "dress is semi formal." Some still showed up in blue jeans, so no offense to anyone. :)

You are cordially invited to

of _______&_______

Black Tie and Formal Dress/Attire

RSVP

Hope this helps. It is pretty basic, right to the point, and completely non-offensive.

If anyone does find it offensive, they probably would have shown up in their Bermuda shorts and a tee shirt! Good Luck Hedera
