Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 3 cans tomato sauce (8 oz. size)
- 1 can chopped green chilies (4 oz.)
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. cilantro or dried parsley
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. corn tortillas
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
- 2 cups cup up, cooked chicken
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions
Melt butter and add onion; saute'. Ad tomato sauce, chilies, chili powder, parsley, and salt. Simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Layer in buttered 1/12 qt. casserole 1/2 of the tortillas, torn in 4 pieces, shredded Cheddar, chicken, and tomato sauce. Repeat layer and bake 25 minutes. Remove and spread sour cream on top. Sprinkle with Cheddar. Bake 5 minutes more to melt cheese.
