Since dryer lint is mostly organic material, it is great for the compost pile.

Me too, I stuff toilet or paper towel rolls, cereal boxes, kleenex and other card or paperboard. For the fire pit outside which I cook on, throughout the year weather permitting and for our wood whole house furnace. But I will remember to throw a little out for the nest makers.

I put mine on top of the compost pile and the birds carry it away to put in their next. I have found several nest that have been blown out of trees in a wind storm and there has been lint in them.

That's a good idea. I use mine to stuff cardboard rolls for fire starters, it really gets a fire going.
