My living room walls are burgundy and my couch is a blue plaid. What type of area rug, design and color would match this?

The style of furniture wasn't mentioned, but a braided oval area rug with burgundy and blue in it would merge the colors together and some throw pillows in another color that's in the area rug to pull all of it together. I'd chose the third as a light color.

OR, an oriental rug that has burgundy and blue and other colors in it too.
