Instead of spring and fall cleaning, which overwhelms me and doesn't get done, I'm working my way through the house with one cleaning project per day. Each day, I choose one shelf, drawer, window, or section to super-clean. It only takes about ten minutes, and I'm keeping track of the list, so I can start at the beginning again, once I get it all cleaned.

I feel so good about accomplishing something each day that makes my life cleaner and brighter! Can't wait for spring!

Great ideas! I have let clutter and disorganization get the better of me! I really need to do something but it all seems overwhelming. I would feel very good just to get a few things done ea day rather than try to tackle it all! Also I just discovered this freecycle.org (check to be sure that's the right website). There happens to be a chapter right in my home town. I hope to offer some of our unwanted items this way to people who need them and perhaps along the way find something I want for free!

I know what you mean about being overwhelmed. I have put my tasks to work for me on my outlook. Every time I clean something; change sheets, clean fridge, vacuum, etc. I put it on the tasks list of my outlook and then do a recurrence. This way when I check my email in the morning a reminder will come up to let me know what I have to do today. You can make the recurrence to come up whenever you feel it will be time to say; example, change the sheets next time. It sure helps me from being overwhelmed now and I don't let things get out of control because I've done to much on one single day.

Thank you for the wonderful idea zballoongirl! You have given me hope and inspiration to accomplish the task! I really like the list idea and am starting that today. Having done nothing but webpages all day, I guess I had better get started. Maryanne
