I have a problem with my cell phone interfering with my computer speakers. At times, when I have my cell phone near my computer, I can hear a static type noise. Sometimes before my cell phone rings, I can hear it. It is very annoying. Does anyone else have this problem? Will it cause a problem with the computer or cell phone? Is there a way to fix it other than keeping the phone away from the computer? Thanks, this has been bugging me for quite awhile and I appreciate any help.

My cell phone makes the computer monitor wavy right before it rings.
I keep the cell at an arm's length away from the computer work station.

I don't have a problem with my cell phone bothering my speakers, what I have is when the phone gets ready to ring I get wavy motion on my monitor. It's very distracting to me. I have to put the phone on a table away from the computer to keep it from happening.

Yup, I have the same problem. I live with a bunch of techies, and all of them advised me there is no fix other than keeping your phone away from the computer/speakers.

They also told me there's no damage as long as your phone doesn't constantly interrupt the speaker or computer signals (as in, your phone, when on and not just ringing, causes interference).

I have the same problem, but it's b/c I keep my cell phone in a pocket of either my shirts or sweatpants. When I sit down at my computer, it starts right a way. I just quickly remove it & lay the cell phone as far a way on the computer desk as possible. I've no idea if it will do any damage, but don't want to take any chances. I even moved my cell phone charger to another power surge strip far from my computers b/c of this problem. Hope somebody has a better answer than I do for us.
