Controlling Odor in Compost Bucket

I save my veggie scraps, coffee grounds, filters, tea bags etc, in a plastic kitty litter bucket under the kitchen sink, if you add shredded paper or substitute sugar packets in there too, it kills the odor. Saving you trips out to the compost pile in a couple of feet of snow.

Danger ever substitute phoney sugar. It kills animals should they get into the compost. It is a horrible death. Besides compost is to be organic. Phoney sweeteners are the farthest from organic.

Wish I knew about this trick before I splurged on a compost bucket from New Seasons that has a charcoal filter. Yours solution is much more thrifty.
