Bottle Cap Sun

Bless your garden with the warmth and good cheer of a benevolent sun.

I used pounded bottle caps, copper nails, and remnants of copper flashing I'd found in the garage.

In time, the copper will oxidize and the bottle caps will rust. My plaque will then be bathed in a patina reminiscent of turquoise, terra cotta, and red clay, imparting a festive feeling to my garden.

Here's my most recent garden sun! I used screws, bolts, copperflashing, copper wire, copper caps and a pounded bottle cap folded in half for this one!

I've often wondered how I can reuse bottle caps, this is a lovely idea.

Think we may try this for 4H or scouts. What are you using for the round background?

Hi!

I used a round wooden plaque (99 cents at Michael's Crafts) that I stained for the base of the bottle cap sun.

Any size and shape of wood would work, however, and it doesn't have to be store bought.
