Many seashells can be dyed using food coloring or crafting dye kits. You can also find great dyed seashells at www.FloridaShellsAndGifts.com
you might try using Rit fabric dye-- it seems to dye everything I spill it on!
My brother and his new wife used easter egg dye kits to dye their sea shells for their wedding. I would try to use food coloring in water.
