Banana Bars

Banana Bars and Frosting

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 3 eggs (beaten)
  • 1/2 cup nutmeats
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 mashed bananas
  • 1 can crushed pineapple (use juice)

Directions:

Mix all together the ingredients. Do not use mixer or beater. Stir very well. Will fit one 11x18 or 9x12 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

Cream Cheese Filling:

  • 3 oz. cream cheese (softened)
  • 6 T, butter or margarine
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. milk or as needed for spreading consistency

Directions:

Mix ingredients and spread on cooled bars.

Banana Bars

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine (softened)
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup sour milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 bananas (mashed)

Directions

Cream margarine and sugar. Add remaining ingredients, except bananas and mix well. Add bananas and stir to blend. Bake in 9x13 inch pan for 20 minutes at 350 degrees F.

I made Banana Bars II yesterday. They were delicious. A lot like banana bread, but a bit chewier. My daughter loves them!
