I need an idea for a float for homecoming. We are the knights and it's for the senior class. Some of the guys in my class want to build a tank but we have no idea how to relate that to our school and our class. Any ideas?

I can see the idea of building a tank to represent the Knights. Maybe a more modern version of a Knight?

Make the tank look cool and futuristic (it would represent the horse) and have your Knights wear a futuristic looking suit of armor, almost combat ready type gear. But then again, I'm a guy too! :)

I'm thinking black and metal for colors (unless you are using your school colors). You could paint the coat of arms on the tank and paint the sides with designs like the knights horses all dressed up for show (not sure on the technical name of this) maybe even have it in a camouflage pattern, to merge the two ideas together. The turret (and the long pointy thing that shoots to shells out) can be made to look like a lance, flaired at the back and maybe have a flag hanging out of the front, the pole inside. You could use pvc pipe for this.

If float size is a limited, make it look super-deformed (anime style) that's cool AND modern all in one! If you have the talent in your group, you can also make the tank tread pattern horseshoe style, maybe get long bands of foam rubber and cut out the shapes. Have a knight sit in the back and have reigns attached to the turret. Heck, even add a horse tail to the rear of the tank (or better yet, have it hang from the radio antenna)

Don't forgot the flag Knights are seen holding when riding into battle! Good luck! :)

Oh, as far as how it relates to your class. You ARE the getting reading to go out into the world, you ARE prepared for the battles ahead! CHARGE!!! (and no, not with a credit card ;)
