Orange Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp. orange extract
  • 1 tsp. grated orange peel
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add egg and remaining ingredients. Drop by spoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degrees F oven for 10 minutes.

Recipe: Orange Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup sour milk or buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 4 cups flour

Frosting Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 lb. powdered sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. butter, at room temperature

Directions

Cream shortening and eggs together. Add sugar, orange juice, sour milk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Mix well. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes or until bottom is slightly brown. Cool and frost.
