I have had to make a substitution in a pinch and plain liquid bleach worked fine. Don't use anything that produces suds in your dishwasher, believe me you will regret it! I used about a half cup of bleach and had my temperature booster on.

Good luck!

I have used washing soda/borax in my dish washer from time to time w/no problem. It is not a high sudsing soap. If you have any of this that you use for the laundry I would try a little and see how it does. Or just try what you have.
