Snowballs
Ingredients:
1/2 cup cold water
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup plus 2 Tbsp. flour
3 eggs
3 Tbsp. raisins
2 Tbsp. citron or dried fruit
1 tsp. vanilla
Fat or oil for deep frying
Directions:
Place water, salt, and margarine in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add flour. Stir until smooth. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, beating well. Mix in fruit and vanilla. Heat fat or oil to 360-375 degrees. Drop balls of the dough into the fat and fry until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper, then roll warm balls in powdered sugar. Makes 2 dozen.

This recipe is almost exactly like "Oliebolen" made in the Netherlands for New Years` Eve. The ones I make use yeast but otherwise are the same.
