Beetroot Lemonade

July 9, 2013

Pink Beetroot LemonadeThis is a wonderful nutritious lemonade with no refined sugar and it tastes like pink lemonade! It's easy, fast and inexpensive to make. Loved by all ages. You'll get a little bit of fiber and lots of vitamin C! :)

Total Time: 15 minutes

Yield: 4

  • 0.5 cups grated beets
  • juice of 2 lemons *
  • 0.25 cups agave nectar **
  • water
  • ice cubes

* Please use fresh lemons. Unfortunately, it will not taste very good if you use bottled.

** Agave should not be replaced with another ingredient. Sadly, sweeteners such as refined sugar and Splenda are not good for your health and believe it or not, the lemonade won't be as good if you use an alternative. Agave can easily be found at any health food store.

  1. Mix beets, lemon juice, and agave in a blender with 1 cup of water. Then strain this mixture. You will have about 1 1/2 cups of mixture. Strain mixture.
  2. Add enough water to this mixture to make 4 cups of lemonade.
  3. Serve on ice. Enjoy!

*If you want a less sweet and more tart lemonade you can use 2 Tbsp of agave instead.

FYI: I forgot to add that the beet mixture needs to be strained first, then add the extra water! :)
