Homemade Hot Chocolate

Homemade Hot Chocolate in cup
Hot chocolate is one of our favorite morning beverages and we make it at home from fresh harvest cacao beans. The beans are sun dried, cooked and grinded then placed into molds to form blocks or bars of raw unsweetened chocolate. We call them "tablea".

  1. Crush tablea blocks with a knife. Or if there is an easier way you can think to crush the blocks, much better. Make up to 1 cup crushed tablea.
  2. scrapping tablea bars with knife
  3. Pour a liter of water in a pot. Let it boil or simmer for some time until bubbles form.
  4. heating water in pot
  5. Pour crushed tablea into boiling water.
  6. adding crushed tablea to pot
  7. Add the sugar.
  8. adding sugar to pot
  9. Stir mixture occasionally to melt the chocolate and sugar faster.
  10. simmering chocolate , Water and sugar
  11. You can add a cup of milk or add more sugar depending on your preferred taste. Transfer this in tea pots and serve hot.
  12. Hot Chocolate thickening in pot

Tip: you can place leftovers in popsicle molds to make chocolate popsies.

Wow, that is so neat! I hear fresh cocoa is so creamy that you don't need milk. :)
