Keeping Originals of Birth and Death Certificates

I have scanned old birth and death certificates, marriage license, etc. to a thumb drive. I will keep hard copies of my birth certificate and marriage license for myself and my children. Is there any reason I would need these original documents of deceased relatives. Getting rid of clutter.

I recently had to prove I was my parents daughter for an inheritance, and was real glad and easy to have my parents marriage certificate and death certificates - so hang on to them - you never know.
