In February, I accidentally spilled water down the fan side of my 2 week old brand new laptop. The computer tech told me to take the battery out ASAP! Still no response. I tried a hair dryer, then placed it in a plastic baggie, sealed well, and waited. After 4 weeks still nothing. So I placed it in the original box and was waiting to send back to the manufacturer, on the last day of its 6 month warranty. I took it out of the box, placed the battery in and it booted right up like nothing had happened.
Never have any liquid near your laptop, ever!

Next time try putting it in a bag filled with rice. Might work has to be done quickly; glad it worked out.
