Use Foil to Prevent Meat Freezer Burn

November 9, 2009

A piece of raw beef sitting on a piece of aluminum foil. When freezing meat, take it out of original packaging. Wrap first in plastic wrap, then in a sheet of aluminum foil. This will keep your meat fresh without freezer burn.

I do this with all my hamburger meat from bulk, so I am saving money and not wasting it on freezer burned food. Also your sheet of aluminum foil doesn't touch the meat so it can be straightened and reused.

When I purchase family packs of meat I individually wrap 1 meal servings in plastic wrap and then in TinFoil (shiny side out). I have never had freezer burned food. Katz from Alberta
