Link: "Shuffling" Software For Random Numbers or Names

There is a tiny freeware computer program, "The Hat", for all versions of Windows. Basically, you type a list of names, then click the 'Shuffle' button. When finished shuffling, click the 'Stop' button. Then click the 'Hat' button and the program will draw a name at random. You can have it draw as many names as you like, until all the names have been drawn.

You can use this program to draw lottery numbers, party prize winners, for raffles or sweepstakes, to draw Bingo numbers. It will also pick random pairs of numbers if you choose, which allows teachers to assign partners, for example.

You can save or print results to a text file. You can import names from a text file. There are some cute special effects in this program that can be turned off or on. It is a nifty little program. You can download it here.
