Cabbage Rolls


  • 8 large cabbage leaves
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1/2 cup cracker crumbs
  • minced onions to taste
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • Ad
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • garlic powder, to taste


Boil cabbage leaves in water to cover in saucepan until tender; drain and set aside. Combine next 7 ingredients in bowl with enough tomato sauce to moisten, mixing well. Roll hamburger mixture in cabbage leaves. Place in baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients in saucepan. Simmer for 5 minutes. Pour over cabbage rolls. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour.
