Caring for a Kitten

I got a 9 week old kitty cat. Can I let her run around the apartment or do I leave her in a room with closed doors? She's scratching and biting all the time. What should I do? This is my first pet. Can you help me?

You can let her play around and explore but try to do that one room at a time. Here is a great guide for kittens:

Unless you want ruined furniture, I would restrict her. Give her a cat scratching post.
