My husband's favorite!
- 1 lb. ground chuck, browned, drained and washed
- 1 medium onion, diced and sauteed in light oil
- 2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1-2 Tbsp. Herbs de Provence (mixture of dried herbs)
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. salt
- black and red pepper, to taste
- 1 can fire roasted diced tomatoes
- 1 can tomato paste
- 2 cans water
Saute onions until softened and add washed ground beef, spices, tomatoes, paste and water. Simmer on low 45 minutes to 1 hour. Add water if needed to prevent sticking, or instead of water, add a little spicy hot V-8 juice. Serve over cooked spaghetti or bread sticks.
