Tip for Opening a Fray Check Bottle

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 169 Posts

I do a lot of appliques with Wonder Under. This necessitates use of Fray Check which comes in a small bottle very similar to a Krazy Glue bottle. Like most people I use a straight pin to make the hole at the end of the tiny applicator/bottle top. I decided several years ago that my arthritic hands will not gain mastery over me so when I started to use my most recent purchase of Fray Check I found that I couldn't just take my finger and push the pin into the plastic.

I took the bottle, stuck the pin into the very top and pushed it against an old painted bookcase which won't be marred by another scratch. That gave me leverage to get the tiny hole in the bottle without hurting my hands. It works like a charm.
