I found if you have chipped toenails, scratchy corns or rough heels that socks tend to stick to them when pulling it on your foot. One day, I decided to turn my sock inside out and wear it. I was amazed, no more socks sticking to my feet or strings of the sock pulling off and catching on my toes. The socks are smoother on the outside and glides right over your feet.

I have done this for years. I like the smoother side next to my feet. Also if anyone wears cotton socks, turn them inside once in a while to check for lint. Those lint balls can irritate.
I had to wear an ortho boot for six weeks and my foot was so tender that the tube sock hurt-so I turned it inside-out and - yea! I didn't hurt. Great idea.
It is also a good practice for people who need seamless socks, such as diabetics. The toe seam doesn't rub on the foot and cause problems. It helps prevent build up of corns and callouses.
