Using Plastic Knives for Plant Stakes

Have you ever planted your plants and forgot which are planted where? An easy and inexpensive way to keep those marked is by buying plastic picnic knives from the dollar store and using a Sharpie marker and writing the plant type on the handle and sticking the bladed side into the ground. These knives are strong and durable.

No no, don't BUY the knives. Remember all those plastic knife and fork sets you got for take out that are stashed in the pantry or the car....usually you only used the fork or brought food home and didn't need the utensils anyway. Use those "free" forks before buying any.

Or better yet, I use popsicle sticks. Biodegradable and all.
