I purchased a toy pom from a local pet store on 6/18, which now I know was a complete mistake. They received him from the breeder on the 6/16 so he had his first series of vaccinations. On the third day of having him he had thrown up in his crate it looked like a murder scene. I took him that night to the vet ER because I thought he ate something. They did x-rays saw something in his stomach so they gave him barrium. That didn't help. I brought him back the next day, they did another x-ray and it still showed some barrium left in his stomach so they gave me i/d food. He ate it drank water and threw up around 2 am next morning.

i am very sorry for the pain both you and your puppy are going through. unfortunately i had pretty much the same thing happen to my pup and he didnt make it and was in terrible pain, it was a complete relief when he did pass on which was soon.
God bless you for having a love of animals and going to the time and expense of ensuring Bibble will be healthy. I will pray for him and watch for updates. Don't be afraid to take out your frustration, the squeaky wheel gets the grease!
I'm with Jwagner. Raise hell. How would you behave if it was your child recieving treatment? Demand action and answers. Don't let them dodge questions, and most importantly, be around. I used to work at a vet, and sometimes it can be hard to get ahold of owners. Make it a habit to stop by there at least once a day (maybe to and from work?), and call right after lunch. If you suspect that you could be getting better treatment elsewhere, go for it.
I wish I could reassure you, but I honestly don't know what the chances are for this poor, unfortunate puppy. Bless you for doing the best you can under most unfortunate circumstances. I would encourage you to try and get some kind of retribution for your vet bills from the pet shop if at all possible. As a former dog breeder, I can only say that, in my experience the pups offered for sale in pet shops almost invariably come from puppy mills where dogs are kept under unbelievably filthy, inhumane conditions, bred indiscriminately, and shot (or--worse--drowned!) when they are beyond breeding age. These people don't give a rip whether the pups are healthy (and they rarely are), frequently fake vaccination certificates, and the dogs and pups are kept under conditions that would make a "normal" person throw up in utter disgust! There are now laws in most states against this sort of thing, but they are difficult to enforce, and the culprits are difficult to track down as they tend to use fake names and addresses and fake identification.

I am sad to hear about your puppy. Unfortunately the pet stores, in general, buy from puppy mills. These animals are very unhealthy to begin with..and the buyer does not know this. I would suggest, if there is a teaching Vet School with hospital to take your puppy there, That is the best chances.
I can relate to that we recued a puppy 12 years ago that spent weeks / months in and out of the vets office due to Parvo. She is now a healthy old lady.
If the dog is stable you have a chance. I have rescued and raised several Parvo infected dogs over the years. Never easy, long and could be expensive-however in my opinion worth it all.
I had gotten a puppy from the local animal shelter. She was a shepard mix. Within a week we knew she wasn't well. Not eathing, throwing up etc.... I took her to our local emergency hospital and we did all the things you are doing. IV's etc.... She had Parvo. I thought my husband was going to kill me!!!! In one week I spent over $1000. on a dog that we got from the shelter. The shelter said "bring her back and pick out something else and they will take care of it" No way! We were already in love with her. I just couldn't resist her eyes. Something about her told me that was the right thing to do no matter the outcome. "Lady" pulled though!
P.S. My husband would tell you that was the best $1035. we ever spent!

Well, you and your puppy are in my prayers. I went through this with my dog Nikka. She pulled through and with all the care I had to give her I ended up being closer to her than any other dog in my life. Just trust that what is meant to be will be.

My dog was 28 months old (2 years, 4 months) when she contracted Parvo. We got all of the medication from the vet and administered ourselves. Vet gave her 50% chance of surviving. With lots of prayer, love, no sleep for days on end, holding her head to throw-up, forcing water down, giving her IV fluids, medications, etc etc... she pulled through. It was like we had held our breath the whole time and was finally able to breathe. She did pull through! Please do keep us all up to date on what happens. I know it's really hard thing to go through... especially when it's your BABY!

As you've learned, NEVER buy from a pet store and/or breeder. (Most of these unfortunate animals come from puppy/kitten mills.)

I know breeders who wont even let you into their kennels. Several reasons; either they dont want you to see the actual conditions they are being raised under--or they are actually concerned about people bringing diseases into an area where there are young puppies.
Several years ago my new husband brought me a sweet Pom home--from a kennel! She had lived in a basement kennel since she was a puppy---4 years! She had gotten everything she needed physically but was terribly love starved.
Of course she wasnt going back---one look in her eyes and I was smitten. She sat gently in my lap just looking up at me and even today, several years later I cry at the tenderness of our first encounter.

I see puppies in the pet shops, sleeping, quite possibly sick and I desperately want to rescue them and show them love but I know that doing so will only ensure the demand for more mill puppies. Dogs arent commodities, they are living breathing loving beings.

My dog got parvo when he was a puppy, despite the fact that he had all his shots on time. To make matters worse, he was a rottweiler (they have the lowest survival rate for parvo of any breed). The vets suggested I put him down and save us a lot of trouble, heartache, and money. I thought we caught it early enough and knew he was a strong dog, so I requested treatment. He made it. My advice is to do anything you can to keep him fighting. Visit him regularly, sit with him, talk to him, stroke him. And if he is able to move or sit, help him do it. Like people, animals often get pneumonia from just lying. He must be a fighter or he wouldn't have lasted this long.
stay strong and stay by your Bibble as much as you can. Show Bibble all your love for him. Let the dr.s do their thing and remember as long as he is stable he is not getting any worse. ALL MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU, BIBBLE AND YOUR FAMILY!!!

My rottweiler, her name is "Baby",she is now 6 years old. she caught parvo when she was 6 months old. I nursed her back to health with Gaterade and antiboitics, amoxicillin. with that disease it is really the dehydration that kills them, keep them hydrated with no food for about 1-2 weeks and then slowly introduce a bland diet of like boiled chicken and rice, once the vomitting and diarreha has stops. i am living witness to this theory, they say rotties are one of the breeds where survival is very mininmal. my "baby" is 6 years strong to this day and a living witness to this. keep strong and positive for Bibble.
My puppies are four months old were diagnosed with Parvo. I put them on IV fluids and an antibiotic. I am happy to report that they made it out of the woods. Any dog can make it if they have the right treatment and TLC
