Teaching a Cat to Use a Cat Door

A cat door allows more freedom for an indoor/outdoor cat and is a great solution for having a litter box in an out of the way place. Getting your cat to use the cat door may not be as easy as you would like it to be. This is a guide about teaching a cat to use a cat door.

Put the cat outside and the food on the inside and slightly prop the door open and the cat will teach himself. There are some cats however that don't like going outside to do their potty and will continue to use the litter box. You can place the litter box outside in a dry place and then there is no smell in the house.
