Decorate with buttons by gluing them to a lamp shade, picture frame or clock. Use wire cutters to clip off the shank of any buttons that have them. Be careful that the pieces you clip don't fly off and hurt you. I close my hand around it to keep it from flying, or you could wear safety goggles.

I use old buttons to sew on small cloth purses to decorate them.

Such creative ways to use buttons. Its smart to recycle when we can. I make greeting cards I cut out a card stock flower and sew on a button for the center of the flower Then I take a fine line pen and draw --------stitches around the edges of the card. You can also draw the stitching lines around the flower so it looks quilted not on the flower but closely around it. Really cute when finished. I get scrap card stock from the print shop for free and buttons in a bag at Goodwill for almost nothing. Yahooo!! Fun for free!

This is a terrific idea! Also beads could be used, also a fringe by those that can crochet.
