If you know for certain it's just dry scalp, it might work well, but the clarifying shampoo suggestion is very harsh and should be used only once a week unless your hair is thick and oily. Otherwise, it will strip away oils, hair spray and colors very well, leaving weakened hair. I dilute mine and use it twice a week diluted with water. If the condition is caused by nervousness or RX meds, it needs to be reported to your RX doctor as a side effect. If the condition is from dust mite dander, only plain alcohol,or miticide, will kill the colonies on the scalp and a serious inventory of where they might be coming from needs to be made. Often it's a sofa arm, linens that need changing or an old mattress, or an unwashed throw pillow, or a dirty towel or old hat which harbor these microscopic pests that eat human skin. Only alcohol, or miticide, and TFal shampoo will get rid of them, if you follow directions on the label. It's a coal tar dark-colored shampoo that is smelly, but works very well. Nothing else works in this case. Often the headrests of chairs, sofas, and auto seats will be filled or covered with dust mites that crawl upon the hair as one leans back on them. They also travel on dust in the air, which can come easily from an outdoor pet, an open window/door, or living near a dirt road, or highway. It takes a lot of frequent cleaning and watching to keep them under control. They can causes head sores, acne, infections, and severe itchiness anywhere on the body, especially on unwashed hair/scalp/ears/nose. They multiply fast and eat a lot, not picky as to whether or not the skin is attached or off the human. Combat dust mites with the best vacuum/air filters you can afford, frequent dusting with Pledge, and a good vacuum cleaning often, washing linens often, never sitting bareskinned anywhere, rinsing tubs before bathing, bleaching whatever you can, and realizing they cannot be totally removed, regardless, but must be controlled well or they will cause eczema, psorisias, and all sorts of ailments inside and outside the body. They are called Dermatophagoids, I believe. With a strong vacuum and good attachmments you can vacuum them from mattresses, upholstery, curtains, lampshades, carpet, clothing, pillows, rugs, stuffed animals, and brick like the professionals.
