Making Tissue Flowers

My daughter has to decorate a car for the homecoming Parade at school. The cars have to be decorated with tissue flowers and I have NEVER made a tissue flower.

you can lightly mist them with perfume or any sented spray like an air freshner to make then smell like real flowers

We used to make them about the same way as carolb posted. We would tear off the outer edges and it would make them look fluffier. Also, using tissue paper instead of Kleenex makes a sturdier flower and gives you a bigger variety of colors and sizes. Mixing colors of tissue paper in the same flower makes beautiful tissue flowers. Just layer different colors and then fold them together. The more layers, the fuller the flower will be. After you fluff them out you can trim as needed to shape with scissors or tear them gently for the rough edge for a fluffier, more natural, look. You can also use pipe cleaners to tie them and then you have a wire to adjust them easier when arranging.
Good luck! It should be fun :)

Southernrose ~ I have just recently looked these up for my mom. How funny. I just went to my address bar and typed in flower/tissue paper or something to that effect. I thought I had kept the web addresses, but I see that I didn't. I hope this helps you out.

We used to make these to decorate wedding cars!
You fold tissue (kleenex) accordian-like and tie a string, pulling it tight, in the centre of it. You then pull up each layer of tissue, fluffing it up. Once you have all the layers puffed up, it makes a flower!
