I am going to be 17 shortly and i was planning on having a party with about 40 people. It's winter and I live in buffalo and I don't know what to do. Please post some ideas! They'd be greatly appreciated!

When it's cold and you don't feel like going outside, it's fun to celebrate the winter and have a Dr. Zhivago party! If you can, a sleigh ride or skating party sets the mood, but it's mainly the menu and indoor decorations that are fun. Lots of blue and white for everything, tablecloths etc., and a menu that sounds Russian but isn't really! Like "Czarina salad" which is caesar salad in disquise, and "Russian Cutlets" are just hamburgers!! If the attendees are willing, you can dress in suitable costumes too. We've done this both with adults and teens, although the beverages change a bit with the adults!! Have fun!

Paris and Britney party - everyone wears something glitzy, paparazzi take lots of pictures, especially of people getting out of their cars and going into the party, everyone brings nonperishables to donate to local food pantry.

Is this party going to be just young adults or are there a variety of ages?

If it is young adults you could pick a theme (Nursery rhymes), or a part of the country (Hawaii, Mexico, Japan, China - South Seas)or a time period (40's, 50's, 60's) and fix food to go with the theme. The 40's - you could get music from that period and maybe have your guest dress in that period. TOGA any one? Pick a movie to form your party around.

Not sure if these help.
