Winter Storm

This was a picture of the ice and snow storm we had this last Christmas. We had no electricity and no heat or water for four long days and nights, PLUS a live power line over the driveway so we couldn't get out or have anyone get in. It was bitter cold but we had the fireplace and some good, inventive meals, and we really found the true meaning of Christmas. We had the Lord in our hearts and each other safe and sound.

This is a lovely picture. Two years ago we were also stranded with out power, water, phone and the like with live powerlines down across our drive for three days. I don't have dramatic pictures like yours mostly because i"m in AZ and the temp at the time was 110. Although we weren't in any danger of freezing, a little snow storm about then would have been nice. Happy thoughts to you. pats/AZ

I love winter!!!

I can relate to this. A few years ago, in January in Maine, we were without heat, lights, phone and a car during an ice storm. We were out for a total of 7 days, lost the phone when a pickup truck caught the downed power lines and phone line, driving by and then lost the car when we attempted to pull out of the driveway but there was ice built up under the car that tore out the transmission.
We spent nights huddled around a kerosene heater, played cards, talked and listened to the transistor radio. Sometimes it's good to get back to what life is all about and an ice storm can do it sometimes.

What a great story. Jesus is the true reason for Christmas so great for you to be able to see the bright side. We live a rural area where the electricty goes off many times during the winter. It does make you become thankful and inventive. RoseMary

I cannot think of a more appropriate way to spend the holiday. Lucky you.
