Wilton Yearbook 2006 Cupcakes

I want to make the cupcakes feaured on the cover of the 2006 wilton yearbook. Has anyone made these? How do I decorate the faces? With candy melts? How do I get black candy melts. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I have never made candy before.

Thanks,
Lynn from Wisconsin

Hi Lynn, I am a Wilton Method Instructor. Those cupcakes have been covered in "Fondant", Wilton now makes all of the colors shown on the cover, even BLACK. If you can find ROSE WATER, add a little, it will make the fondant taste MUCH better. Every face was hand formed, then to make it stick together, use piping gel, it acts like glue, but edible.

The website has the instructions and they seem really easy to understand.
