We're running a charity event in February with a feature that involves making accessories from items of clothes. There have been many ideas posted, but if anyone has any other ideas they would all come in useful. We're especially looking for easy projects for non-stitchers!

Check out the www.Crafster.org website. If you snoop around it a bit, I bet you'll find tons of great ideas. Good luck

One idea is: floor length or long skirts, especially those with elastic waists are GREAT to put on a backless high stool. Old wooden ones are good. Just put skirt over the stool and glue waist band around the edge of stool seat. Voila. A pretty plant stand with instant covering. Some skirts fit so well that gluing is not required, makes it fun to change "skirts "... to any decor(This looks great with a nice big fern on stool ).

Remove collars and cuffs and add ties, snaps or hooks and use as a removeble accessory for sweaters and plain dresses. Make scarves from hems and ruffles. Make jewelry from old zippers. Make aprons from old dresses. Use long sleeves as decorative sleeve protectors with elastic or drawstrings at each edge. Make tote bags and purses from all types of clothing. Hats and tams of old jeans.
